Tumblr launches Safe Mode

Tumblr has introduced Safe Mode, which gives users control over what they see on the platform.

“Safe Mode filters sensitive content in your dashboard and your search results,” said Tumblr.

Sensitive content is anything that might not be suitable for members of the community.

“As an example, nudity, including in an artistic, educational, or photojournalistic context, may be considered sensitive.”

To activate Safe Mode:

  • Web or Android – Go to account settings and flip the Safe Mode switch.
  • iOS – Go to the phone’s Settings app, tap Tumblr, and the Safe Mode settings will show.

“Users who are under 18 will not be able to turn off Safe Mode until they are older.”
