Google Chrome will let you permanently mute websites

The Chrome browser will soon let you mute a website directly from its Page Info bubble.

According to Google’s François Beaufort, the Chrome development team is currently experimenting with the feature.

This will give users greater control over which websites can automatically play sound.

Users willing to test the new feature can try it by running the latest Chrome Canary build with the “–enable-features=SoundContentSetting” switch.
