Facebook will share ads from the Russian entity known as the Internet Research Agency with congressional investigators.
This follows Facebook finding over 3,000 ads addressing social and political issues that ran in the US between 2015 and 2017.
The ads appear to come from accounts associated with the Russian-linked agency.
Facebook’s general counsel Colin Stretch said the company will share its findings with the investigators.
“We believe it is vitally important that government authorities have the information they need to deliver to the public a full assessment of what happened,” said Stretch.
“Congress is best placed to use the information we and others provide to inform the public comprehensively and completely.”
Facebook said it will also continue its review and investigation.
