Facebook is updating its News Feed ranking to improve the distribution of videos people want to watch.
Videos from pages people look for will see greater distribution on the News Feed.
Facebook will also show more videos in News Feed from popular publishers or creators.
The company’s monetisation tools have also been upgraded, which will help partners to make more money.
This includes testing pre-roll ads in Watch.
“While pre-roll ads don’t work well in News Feed, we think they will work well in Watch because it’s a place where people visit and come back to with the intention to watch videos,” said Facebook.
Facebook will start with 6-second pre-roll ads.
It is also updating its guidelines for Ad Breaks, and providing new performance metrics for publishers and creators.
