Top SA websites: News24 continues its dominance

Effective Measure has released their latest website statistics, revealing that News24 continues it dominance in the local online environment.
The local elections held in May 2011 boosted most local news websites’ traffic, and News24 attracted just over 2 million unique South African visitors and served over 35 million pages to these visitors.
News24’s election map – which updated South Africans on the election results as they became available – was a popular destination during the local elections and hence contributed to News24’s strong performance.
South Africa’s other large news websites, IOL and TimesLive, also performed well in May, ranking at number three and five respectively on SA statistics.
