The latest Alexa website rankings for the United States show that Reddit has overtaken Facebook in popularity.
Alexa is an Amazon-owned web traffic analysis platform, which uses data from its global traffic panel to make website size estimates.
It also gathers traffic data from sites that have chosen to install the Alexa script on their site and certify their metrics.
According to the Alexa rankings, Google is the most popular website in the United States, followed by YouTube and Reddit.
Facebook is ranked fourth, with Amazon, Wikipedia, Yahoo, Twitter, Ebay, and Netflix making up the top 10.
This is the first time Reddit has overtaken Facebook in the United States.
Reddit users also spend more time on the site per day than their Facebook counterparts – 15 minutes vs 11 minutes.
Alexa’s rankings for South Africa show that Google is the most popular website, followed by YouTube and Facebook.
