Chrome 74 beta includes dark mode support for Windows

Google has released the beta version of Chrome 74, which includes dark mode support for Windows.

Chrome will automatically adjust to dark mode when the user’s Windows color scheme is set to “dark”.

The feature has already been made available to macOS users in the browser’s previous release, Chrome 73.

Dark mode brings with it a host of advantages, such as low-light browsing, lower power usage, and health benefits.

Another major feature included in the Chrome 74 beta is the ability to turn off style features that may induce motion sickness.

These include parallax scrolling and zooming.

Other new features include:

  • A Javascript API for the management of feature policies.
  • Audio sample rate management.
  • Private class fields.

Chrome 74 is expected to officially launch on 23 April.
