Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram hit by global outage

Facebook and its related applications, including Instagram and WhatsApp, have experienced a global outage which affected various services.
The platforms experienced issues loading images, video, and other content. The ability to send and receive messages on WhatsApp was also affected.
The issues began appearing at around 14:00, and have reportedly already begun clearing up, although some services are taking longer to restore.
Facebook confirmed on Twitter that was working on restoring functionality to its applications.
“We’re aware that some people are having trouble uploading or sending images, videos and other files on our apps,” the company said.
“We’re sorry for the trouble and are working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible.”
