Biggest and best SA websites: January 2012

The latest DMMA/Effective Measure statistics reveal that News24 continues to dominate the South African website arena, with IOL and Howzit.MSN ranked at number 2 and number 3 respectively.

According to the January 2012 Effective Measure statistics News24 attracted 2,768,107 unique monthly visitors in January 2012 while News24 Mobile was ranked third with 1,241,714 unique browsers.

Supersport and Supersport Mobile also appeared in the top 10 SA website rankings, and with the Super Rugby season approaching one can expect these websites, along with Sport24, to enjoy strong growth in the coming months.

It should be noted that the DMMA/Effective Measure statistics only ranks South African websites registered with the DMMA, which means that large portals like BidorBuy, Gumtree and the banks are not listed.
