Movies, TV series on-demand in SA from Samsung
Samsung SA revealed during the launch of the Galaxy S3 yesterday (7 June 2012), that the Video Hub digital movie and TV series store for Samsung devices was launched in South Africa last week.
Samsung first revealed that it would be bringing Video Hub to SA in March 2012, saying that it would be available on the 7-inch Galaxy Tab 2.
Craige Fleischer, business leader for mobile at Samsung SA, said that South Africa is one of 7 markets where Samsung will launch Video Hub.
Samsung previously said that Video Hub offers over 1,000 film titles for purchase or rent, but by our count the South African store lists around a tenth of that.
There is only one series listed for the moment, but Fleishcer said that we can expect to see more soon.
Movie rentals cost R10 or R19 depending on the title. They can also be bought for either R40 or R99.
The first five seasons of Two and a Half Men are also available for purchase at R15 per episode.
