Top 10 South African websites
The June 2012 DMMA/Effective Measure website statistics became available recently, revealing that Howzit.MSN and News24 continue to dominate the South African website market.
Effective Measure was selected as the DMMA’s official audience measurement technology partner in early 2011, and is producing monthly website traffic reports for DMMA listed websites.
The importance for an industry supported measurement body and metrics was highlighted in the recent South African online radio listenership debacle, and the DMMA has shown an interest in possibly incorporating online radio stations in future.

The June 2012 Effective Measure statistics reveal that Howzit.MSN attracted a total of 3,216,224 unique monthly visitors last month, edging out News24 and IOL.
When it came to South African only visitors, News24 reigned supreme with 1,950,165 unique monthly browsers, followed by Howzit.MSN and IOL.
