Top 10 South African websites

The August 2012 Effective Measure statistics revealed that News24 is the most popular local website among South Africans, followed by Howzit.MSN and IOL.
Effective Measure is the official traffic measurement partner of the Digital Media and Marketing Association (DMMA), and provides accurate traffic statistics for South Africa’s top websites.
According to the August 2012 Effective Measure statistics, News24 attracted 2,288,635 unique South African visitors, followed by Howzit.MSN (1,756,454unique SA visitors), and IOL (1,221,470 unique SA visitors).
South Africa’s largest sporting websites, Sport24 and Supersport, were ranked at number 4 and number 5 respectively.
