Biggest e-mail spammers in SA named and shamed

The Internet Service Providers’ Association’s (ISPA) Hall of Shame, which aims to assist South African consumers to effectively manage local unsolicited bulk e-mail (aka spam), currently lists 54 local e-mail spammers and 32 South African e-mail address resellers.

Many of the people and companies listed in ISPA’s Spam Hall of Shame have been on the list for years, including Dynamic Seminars and New Heights 1268 / Jaco Derksen.

“There is currently significant growth in the generation of local spam, and while ISPA’s members do their best to keep spam out of their customers’ inboxes, this does come at a cost,” ISPA said.

While some names continue to occur on the ISPA Hall of Shame, this initiative proved to be a success with many of the ‘offenders’ changing their ways to be removed from the list.
