The official October 2012 Effective Measure statistics revealed that MyBroadband served 7.8 million pages to its 1.2 million unique monthly visitors. This was the best month ever for MyBroadband, and continues the website’s strong growth in 2012.
MyBroadband was ranked as a Top 10 website by Effective Measure for both South African traffic and for total traffic in October 2012.
MyBroadband was further rewarded as one of the top online publishers at The Bookmarks 2012 awards ceremony held in Cape Town on 1 November 2012.
The Bookmarks is a South African Digital Awards initiative by the DMMA, recognizing and rewarding results in digital publishing and agencies.
MyBroadband shared awards for publisher sites with mass appeal with the Daily Maverick (Daily Maverick and iMaverick) and 24.com (Food24, News24 and Sport24.co.za).
MyBroadband’s sister website BusinessTech was also nominated in the niche website category – a great achievement considering that the website has only been running since the beginning of this year.
These achievements come on the back of a successful MyBroadband Conference held at Vodacom world on 10 October 2012 which attracted 1,600 delegates.
The conference saw Vodacom launching the first commercial LTE service in South Africa, DFA celebrating their fifth birthday and launching their low cost shaped fibre offering, and 8ta showing off the performance of their LTE network in a live demonstration.
MyBroadband founder Rudolph Muller credited MyBroadband’s excellent online community and superb staff for the success.
“MyBroadband has the best online community and best readers in South Africa, and our excellent journalists and marketing staff do a great job at serving this community,” said Muller.
