FNB Connect adds to free social browsing
FNB announced in a press statement today (19 November 2012) that it is adding LinkedIn and Pinterest to its promotion through which FNB Connect users can browse social websites for free between 7 and 11 pm.
The promotion initially applied to Facebook, YouTube and Twitter and has now been extended to Pinterest and LinkedIn.
“The social networking phenomenon is something which we as a bank have embraced, so we saw this as a good opportunity to give back,” said Farren Roper, head of FNB Connect ISP and business operations.
According to the recent South African Social Media Landscape 2012 study, produced by World Wide Worx and Fuseware, LinkedIn is the largest professional network in the world, with a presence in over 200 countries.
In South Africa it is estimated that more than 1.9 million South Africans have a profile on LinkedIn.
Pinterest is also one of the fastest growing social networks globally, FNB said.
The promotion joins benefits already in effect for qualifying FNB customers.
FNB customers currently get up to 5GB of free monthly ADSL data – and free ADSL access to FNB websites like FNB Online, FNB Connect, eBucks.com, as well as educational sites such as learn.co.za and South African universities.
