DionWired has launched its revamped online store, celebrating the launch at an event on Wednesday 21 November 2012. The online store now provides new features such as online promotions, extended product ranges, TV-license authentication and free country-wide delivery.
“We believe that the time is right to move into the online shopping space. The future of retail is a seamless customer experience between all channels – whether bricks and mortar, mobile or web,” said Richard Millson, marketing director of Massdiscounters.
Millson said that the new online store opens up the DionWired product catalogue to a greater audience across the country.
“So even though we have only 18 physical stores in major centres in South Africa, through our online store, we are now effectively present in every town and city across South Africa,” he said.
The online store also features a free return policy, where customers can return a product to a store within 10 days to be replaced or refunded.
Security is a priority when using the online store, with DionWired assuring customers that bank-level encryption and credit card authentication systems are in place.
The store is also pushing its real-time TV license verification feature – something unique to DionWired’s online shop.
“We identified this gap in the market whilst developing our online strategy. Online retailers weren’t handling the TV licence checks very well or even legally in some cases.”
“We had an opportunity to make checks simple and seamless whilst also adhering to the SABC’s strict legal requirements. We sell a lot of televisions online as a result,” Millson said.
