ANC website going down: Anonymous
The hacker activist, or “hacktivist”, who took responsibility for the downtime of the Independent Online (IOL) website, Anonymous Africa, has announced on Twitter that it will be taking the ANC website offline at 10:00 today (14 June 2013).
“Today we shall be hitting one of the biggest enablers of the mass murdering Mugabe. The ANC…” stated Anonymous Africa, who goes by @zim4thewin on Twitter.
In response to questions on the intended target, the hacktivist said they would be taking down the main ANC website using a “Tsunami DDoS [distributed denial-of-service]” attack.
Update: As of 10:00, the ANC website is offline. “anc.org.za is tango down! for being corrupt and supporting the mass murdering mugabe,” Anonymous Africa tweeted.

Numerous attempts to connect to the ANC website shortly after 10:00 proved fruitless. The following screenshot displayed what users trying to access to ANC.org.za were met with.
An ANC spokesperson was not immediately available for comment regarding the attack on the organisation’s website.
Update (11:38): Anonymous Africa announced that it will stop the attack on the ANC website in 12 minutes, saying, “protest against the anc will stop in 12 minutes, we will be back”.
