Ster-Kinekor Entertainment, which handles all things Sony PlayStation in South Africa, has told MyBroadband that it hopes to announce details around music and video content services in 2014.
Sony offers music and video content through its Sony Music Unlimited and Sony Video Unlimited services in a number of territories around the world.
There is still some uncertainty as to if, when, and in what form these services will be made available in South Africa, however.
“The roll out of Music and Video Services is a complex process [and] we have no visibility of the roadmap,” Ster-Kinekor Entertainment CEO, Mario Dos Santos said.
“However, we have had numerous discussions with SCEE [Sony Computer Entertainment Europe] in this regard and are hopeful of being able to share some further info in the year ahead of a possible solution for South Africa,” Dos Santos added.
