The City of Joburg recently announced that the viewing element of the e-Statements that reside on its e-Services website has been restored, and that customers can now view their statement on e-Services by logging in with their username and password.
However, some City of Joburg residents are complaining that the website does not work, and that they are greeted with error messages when trying to view their e-Statements.
One user said on the MyBroadband forums that “once I login every single link on the left side gives the error message”:
The page you are trying to access is currently not available. Please try again later. If the problem persists, contact the Web Manager. Select the “Contact Us” link on the left had side of your screen and complete the Web Manager Feedback form to report this error message.
Another user said that the problem is caused by trying to serve mixed content over a HTTPS connection.
He said that the content is now blocked in the user’s browser due to the security violation:
[blocked] The page at ‘https://www.cojestatements.co.za:8443/cojpdfweb/’ was loaded over HTTPS, but ran insecure content from ‘http://web.joburg.org.za/eap.nsf/[SNIP]’: this content should also be loaded over HTTPS.
The City of Joburg was asked for comment regarding the reported problems with its e-Services website, but they did not respond by the time of publication.
