Twitter photo tagging and how to disable it
Twitter announced on its blog on Thursday, 27 March 2014, that it has rolled out two new features to its iPhone and Android apps that “make photos on Twitter more social.”
The first is the ability to tag up to 10 people in a photo by searching for them by name within the app.
“If you’re the one being tagged, you’ll get a notification. You can adjust notifications, as well as who can tag you, in your settings,” Twitter said.
The update also lets users share up to 4 photos in a single Tweet, Twitter said.
For the privacy-minded, it’s worth noting that the default Twitter has decided on is to allow anyone to tag you in photos.
To disable this, visit your Twitter settings, select “Security and privacy” and under privacy choose “Do not allow anyone to tag me in photos”.
