It was in July 2014 that the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit was put on auction and bought by Porsche South Africa CEO Toby Venter for R205 million.
Following the track’s transfer to its new owner, a massive upgrade plan for the circuit was announced – including the reworking and resurfacing of the raceway.
The track will be resurfaced to international specifications, the main straight will be lengthened, corners will be modified, and safety upgrades to bring the track to FIA Grade 2 standards will be made.
Upgrades to the pit building and conference facilities will also take place.
