Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced on Twitter that production of the Model 3 is set to begin this week.
Musk said he expects the first car they can sell off the assembly line on Friday, and Tesla will host a handover party for the first 30 customers on 28 July.
From there, production will grow, he said. Tesla expects to produce 100 cars in August, and over 1,500 in September.
By December, the company should be able to produce 20,000 Model 3 vehicles per month.
