Mazda and Toyota join forces on electric vehicles

Mazda, Denso, and Toyota have signed a contract to develop structural technologies for electric vehicles.

The companies will also establish a new company consisting of engineers to implement the development projects.

Huge investments and time is required to cover all markets and vehicle segments when it comes to EVs, said the companies.

This agreement covers a range of models, from mini-vehicles to passenger vehicles, SUVs, and light trucks.

The new company will:

  1. Research optimum performance and functions of EVs.
  2. Verify component installation and vehicle performance.
  3. Examine the optimum concept for each car classification.

The companies also aim to create a business structure that is open to other automakers and suppliers.
