Tesla recently unveiled its new Roadster, an electric supercar which Elon Musk called “a hardcore smack to gasoline cars”.
The Roadster boasts an acceleration time of 0-100km/h in 1.9 seconds.
The all-wheel drive car also offers 10,000Nm of torque, with a top speed of over 400km/h.
Musk has now revealed the car may go even faster.
He said the 1.9-second acceleration is the base model’s performance, and there will be a special options package that “takes it to the next level”.
“Rocket tech applied to a car opens up revolutionary possibilities,” said Musk.
There is a question of safety with the increased performance, however, he noted.
