Nissan to test robo-taxis in 2018

Nissan and DeNA have unveiled the Easy Ride brand for a new robo-vehicle mobility service.

The companies also announced plans for a test in Japan with public participation.

The companies aim to combine the Nissan Intelligent Mobility vision with DeNA’s experience in developing and operating driverless mobility services.

With “more freedom of mobility” as its concept, Easy Ride is envisioned as a service for anyone who wants to travel in a robo-vehicle.

The goal is to allow customers to use a mobile app to complete the whole travel and payment process.

Customers can also select recommended local destinations and sightseeing routes, with planned support for multiple languages.
