Tesla Model 3 the best-selling electric car in the world
Tesla’s Model 3 electric sedan is the best-selling electric car in the world, CleanTechnica reports.
According to the report, the Model 3 is far ahead of other electric cars such as the Nissan LEAF and BAIC EC-Series.
Tesla’s electric sedan comprises 7% of the electric vehicle market with 145,846 cars sold in 2018 – 55,000 more than its nearest competitor.
The carmaker’s Model S and Model X vehicles also sold well last year, taking 4th and 5th place respectively.
To meet demand, Tesla is now manufacturing more than 1,000 Model 3 vehicles per day and the car continues to gain popularity in the United States and across the world.
The electric carmaker is also planning on expanding its model line-up soon, with the Model Y set to reach production in 2020.
