New Lotus electric hypercar is the “most powerful car ever”

Lotus has unveiled its latest hypercar, the Evija, which is an all-electric vehicle that can fast charge to 100% battery in just 9 minutes.

The car boasts 2000PS (around 1,973 horsepower), which Lotus claims makes the vehicle the “most powerful car ever to enter production”.

It boasts a top speed of over 320km/h and a range of 400km – making it a competitor to Tesla’s Roadster.

It is significantly more expensive than the Roadster, however, costing $2.1 million (R29.37 million).

Lotus CEO Phil Popham said that the Evija would re-establish the Lotus brand in the hearts and minds of sports car fans.

Photos of the Evija are below.
