HTTPS SSL encryption vulnerable

The Secure Socket Layer (SSL) and Transport Layer Security (TLS) encryptions are susceptible to decryption by hackers.

Researchers have discovered a weakness, in virtually all websites protected by the secure socket layer protocol, that allows hackers to decrypt data that is passing between a web server and an end-user browser.

The vulnerability is prominent in the TLS 1.0 encryption method, the successor to SSL, which is widely used by financial websites and large companies.

Online security firms are aware of the exploit and are working to patch it as soon as possible.

“We have got a team of security people and it is always working on updates and upgrades and they are looking into this already, the details are still to be revealed, but the security people are trying to get a head start on making sure this is kept secure,” said a PayPal spokesperson.
