EchoEcho gets Google Ventures backing

Location-based application, EchoEcho raised $750,000 (R5,9M*) from Google Ventures last September, as well as an additional $750,000 for this quarter.

EchoEcho allows users to quickly figure out where their friends are, and share one another’s location within a prescribed group.

A built-in chat then lets the group decide on which location – such as a bar, restaurant or other public spot – to meet at from a location finder, which lists possible meeting places.

The funding is to grow the EchoEcho team and focus on user acquisition.

EchoEcho is currently available for all major smartphone platforms.
