2.5-year old Android bug getting fix
A bug which has been around in the Android OS for over two-and-a-half years is finally getting fixed with a new update.
The bug, which originally appeared in 2010, causes the issue of not being able to resolve a hostname on a local domain.
Known as Issue 8030, the bug isn’t a problem for most users, but has caused disgruntled comments on the code.Google page since being found.
Google finally responded, saying “The fix for this has gone in thanks to Kevin Tang. It will be available in the next major release.”
Users complained about how long Google has taken to respond. Google answered, saying that “it was a matter of prioritization and resources. We don’t have people to put on every requested feature and we certainly were not idle during this time. I apologize it took so long.”
