Can you pass a Grade 9 South African maths test?
The Annual National Assessments (ANA) are a set of tests used to assess the health of our basic education system.
“The ANA are standardised national assessments for languages and mathematics in the senior phase (grades 7 – 9), intermediate phase (grades 4 – 6), and in literacy and numeracy for the foundation phase (grades 1 – 3),” states the Department of Education.
We have written extensively about South African high school students’ poor performance in maths, and how local kids perform dismally in the ANA tests.
But do you have what it takes to pass an ANA test?
10 questions from the 2014 ANA Grade 9 Maths test are posted below. We have made 50% the pass mark.
