US military working on laser-equipped attack helicopter
The US military is experimenting with laser-equipped vehicles, with its latest tests involving an attack helicopter.
Its laser-equipped attack helicopter fired at targets for the first time recently, thanks to a joint project with arms contractor Raytheon.
Testing took place in New Mexico and saw the helicopter hit a target from over 1km away.
The High Energy Laser system and AH-64 Apache helicopter hit targets at various altitudes and speeds.
