Private space company plans to mine rocks on the Moon

Private spaceflight company Moon Express has revealed plans to mine lunar rocks and send them to Earth.

Moon Express aims to launch a number of landers to the Moon over the next few years, each with a different goal.

The company’s “Harvest Moon” mission will take place in 2020 is aimed at collecting lunar rocks from the Moon’s surface.

Moon Express believes the return and sale of these lunar samples will justify the cost of the mission.

In 2019, the company plans to launch a spacecraft aimed at establishing a lunar outpost at the Moon’s South Pole.
