Sleeping less than 7 hours a night can lead to many problems, including health issues, emotional instability, and being less productive.
This is according to Matthew Walker, director of the Center for Human Sleep Science at the University of California, Berkeley.
Walker said employees who do not sleep enough are less likely to find novel solutions to problems, they’re less productive, and they select easier challenges at work.
He said operating on anything less than 7 hours sleep per night impairs a host of brain and bodily functions.
“It increases your risk for heart attack, cancer, and stroke, compromises your immune system, and makes you emotionally irrational, less charismatic, and more prone to lying,” said Walker.
