Anonymous takes down EFF website

The attacker who took down the SABC’s websites over the weekend with a distributed denial of service attack knocked the website of the Economic Freedom Fighters offline on Monday.

According to posts on Twitter, Anonymous Africa said a member of the EFF said they were bluffing about taking down the EFF site, and that they did not have the power.

“Challange accepted,” said Anonymous Africa.

The website was not down long. “Just proving a point racists who think they are untouchable,” the group said.

“The EFF were selected for attention for becoming a black version of the German Nazi Party. Anonymous Africa has long stood up against racists. Of every colour.”

At the time of publication, the EFF’s website was back online.
