Department of Basic Education website hacked

The website of the Department of Basic Education has been hacked.

Hackers gained access to the site on Wednesday evening and replaced its main page with gory and violent images, along with a message citing a religious motive for the attack.

Images included decapitated corpses.

Below is the message accompanying the images:

Hacked by Team System Dz.

A message to the government, the American people and the rest of the world. Is this the humanity that you claim, or is life irrelevant to Muslims?

Do not imagine that these actions against Muslims will pass you and we will forget what you did to the Arab and Muslim peoples all over the world. I love Islamic State.

The department issued a statement regarding the hack, stating it took steps to remove the images and investigate how the website was compromised.

“In this regard, we have contacted SITA that is responsible for the security system to deal with the hacking as a matter of urgency.”

The website has been taken down while the department works to restore it.
