Cloudflare unveils Stream video delivery service

Cloudflare has unveiled Stream, a service for hosting and streaming video online.

Stream is available in beta, and those interested may sign up on the Cloudflare website to test it.

Cloudflare already works with websites that stream video, but for the most part these videos are hosted by a third-party service.

With the launch of Stream, the company will offer an “all-in-one” content delivery network package which promises to give sites the ease of YouTube with the power and control you would expect from a custom system.

It does this by combining encoding, global delivery, and a media player into one product.

Pricing will be based on the amount of time people spend watching video content, it said.
