Apple releases patch for macOS High Sierra security flaw

High Sierra

Apple has released an update to macOS High Sierra to patch a security vulnerability that allowed root privileges to a machine without a password.

The vulnerability is detailed on a support page on Apple’s website, with the company urging customers to install the patch as soon as possible.

“Security is a top priority for every Apple product, and regrettably we stumbled with this release of macOS,” said Apple.

“We are auditing our development processes to help prevent this from happening again.”
