Facebook acquires biometric security startup

Facebook has acquired biometric security company Confirm.

The startup revealed the acquisition in a notice posted on the Confirm.io website.

“This is the culmination of three years of hard work building technology that will keep people safe and secure online,” it said.

Confirm has shut down its current digital ID authentication software offerings during the acquisition process.

The biometric security company develops technology which uses facial recognition data and mobile biometrics to authenticate user identity.
