The best and worst antivirus software for Windows 10

A study conducted by AV-Test has compared a number of popular antivirus products to determine which is the best for Windows 10.

Products were tested in terms of protection, performance, and usability to determine a final score which was used to rank the software.

Each of these areas were scored out of six points, making the highest possible score a total of 18 points.

In addition to comparing third-party antivirus software, AV-Test also compared Windows Defender to other security solutions and found that it was one of the top products on the market.

The highest-ranked antivirus products in terms of total score included McAfee, Symantec, BitDefender, Avira, and VIPRE Security.

Below are the ratings for major antivirus products compatible with Windows 10, according to AV-Test. The products have been ranked by overall score.
