Power FM website hacked
The new Power FM website (http://powerfm.co.za/), which uses WordPress as its content management system (CMS), has been defaced by a hacker calling himself “black real”.
The security breach seems to have taken place on Sunday 23 June 2013, and by the time of publication the website had not been restored.
Power FM, South Africa’s latest commercial talk radio station, which broadcasts throughout Gauteng and surrounding areas, went live on 18 June 2013.
Power FM is owned by media operating group MSG Afrika Media, a subsidiary of MSG Afrika Investment Holdings.
Power FM could not immediately reached for comment.
Update: the website was restored early on Monday morning. “Our website has now been fixed, thank you for your patience,” Power FM said on Twitter at around 07:30.
