DStv BoxOffice app launched on Galaxy S5 in SA

A smartphone application for DStv BoxOffice will be available exclusively on the Samsung Galaxy S5 for a limited period, Samsung South Africa announced on Thursday, 10 April 2014.

DStv BoxOffice is a video streaming service from MultiChoice that offers online movie rentals.

It is available to DStv subscribers and non-subscribers, and costs R30 to rent a new release, and R10 to rent older films.

DStv Premium and Extra subscribers with decoders that support high definition and personal video recording are also able to rent movies via their decoders.

Subscribers on the Premium or Extra packages also receive a R5 discount on new releases, whether they rent through the online BoxOffice service or the decoder-based one.

Samsung also confirmed earlier information that the Samsung Galaxy S5 would include its “ADH Premium” warranty, which covers accidental damage from handling.
