Sony Xperia Z2 prices in South Africa

The Sony Xperia Z2 launched on Vodacom recently and looks like it will be exclusive to the red network until the end of May 2014.
Sony Mobile first showed off the phone in South Africa on 3 March 2014 after introducing it at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain towards the end of February.
It promised a number of improvements over its predecessor, the Sony Xperia Z1, including slightly better internal hardware and 4K video recording.
Vodacom said that the Xperia Z2 is available on its Smart S contract for R499 per month, which includes 1GB free data for the first 3 months. It can also be had for R10,799 without contract from Vodacom.
MTN SA’s general manager for products and solutions, Mike Fairon, said that they plan to launch the Z2 on 1 June 2014.
“Customers will be able to pre-order online as of 16 May 2014,” Fairon said. “The product will be available on postpaid on MTN MyChoice 100 at R469 and will include 100minutes, 100SMS and 100MB data, and a Sony SmartBand.”
Orange also has the Sony Xperia Z2 available through its online store for R9,115 without contract. Cell C and Telkom Mobile did not say by the time of publication when they would offer the phone.
