Huawei Ascend P7 SA launch date, price

Huawei launched its new Android smartphone, the Ascend P7, to the South African market on Thursday, 26 June 2014.
The Chinese electronics manufacturer first launched the device on 7 May 2014 in countries in Europe and Asia at a recommended retail price of €449.
A feature focused on at the launch was the Huawei Ascend P7’s 8 megapixel (MP) front-facing camera which the company said offers better quality selfies than any high-end smartphone on the market.
It runs on a 1.8GHz quad-core Hisilicon Kirin 910T processor, 2GB RAM, and is powered by a 2,500mAh battery.

Like the Samsung Galaxy S5 and HTC One M8, the Huawei Ascend P7 features an ultra power saving mode, promising up to 24 hours of standby time on just 10% charge.
Accessories available for the Ascend P7 include the TalkBand B1, the Chinese manufacturer’s own smart watch.
The device will be launched in South Africa at a recommended retail price of R6,699 on 7 July 2014, and will be exclusive to Vodacom until 31 July.
Among the contracts it will be available on is Vodacom Smart S, where it will cost R379 per month.
Huawei said that in line with expanding its footprint, the Ascend P7 will be available in Kenya, Mauritius, Congo, and Uganda from July, with other African markets to follow.
It will be available in black and white in July, with pink Huawei Ascend P7s coming to the market later in the quarter.
