LG G3 launch date, prices for SA

Cell C, MTN, and Vodacom spokespeople have confirmed they will be offering the LG G3 on contract from August 2014.
LG first unveiled its new flagship Android smartphone towards the end of May 2014, saying the device would be available in South Africa later in the year.
At first, MTN said it didn’t have plans to offer the device, but said it would make an announcement if its plans changed.
Head of products and solutions at MTN SA, Mike Fairon, has now made that announcement.
“MTN will launch the LG G3 in August and it will be available on postpaid,” Fairon said. “Further information will be shared closer to the launch date.”
Cell C provided similar feedback, with a spokesperson for the operator also saying they will reveal more information closer to the launch.
Vodacom said the LG G3 should be available both at its stores and online from 7 August 2014.
It is expected to have a recommended retail price of R8,754 and will be available for R499 on a Vodacom uChoose Flexi 200 contract.
Telkom Mobile said the LG G3 is not currently in the range of devices they plan to launch.
Orange South Africa currently lists the LG G3 for R7,765.
