Samsung Galaxy Note 4 SA price, launch date

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will be available in South Africa from mid-October 2014, with Vodacom announcing a recommended retail price for the device of R11,759.

MTN has also listed the Note 4 in its October dealbook on its My MTNChoice 100, 200, and 350 contract packages.

Cell C previously confirmed that it will be offering the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, but said it would only be able to reveal launch and pricing information at a later date.

Samsung introduced the latest iteration of its large-screen Galaxy Note smartphone range last month (3 September 2014) at IFA in Berlin, along with a new device it calls the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge.

It also unveiled a virtual reality (VR) accessory for the Note 4 it calls the Gear VR.

The Gear VR was developed by Oculus VR, the company known for its Kickstarter-funded Oculus Rift virtual reality headset.

Initial indications are that the Gear VR accessory for the Note 4, and the new Galaxy Note Edge smartphone, will not be available in South Africa immediately.
