iPhone 6 launch window for South Africa
South Africans should expect the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus to become available around mid-November 2014, industry sources with knowledge of the launch have told MyBroadband.
This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone who follows technology news, as Apple has stuck to the same general release schedule for the past few years.
As always, there was a brief hope that the new iPhone would launch in South Africa a bit earlier than before, with sources saying that operators were getting ready for a late October launch.
However, sources say that an October launch is off the table, while a November launch looks very likely.
Exact local iPhone launch details are always in flux until a few weeks before the actual launch day, so more information about the pricing and availability of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus is only expected to emerge in the coming weeks.
Previously asked when they expect Apple’s new iPhone to become available, South Africa’s mobile network operators said they didn’t have any information to share yet, and directed queries to Apple.
Core Group, official distributor of Apple products in South Africa, said it would let us know when it has more to share.
