Samsung Galaxy A7 octa-core, metal-clad smartphone unveiled

Samsung has unveiled its new Galaxy A7 smartphone, promising a powerhouse of a device that will sport the slimmest metal unibody on the market today.

“We strive to develop devices that appeal to a broad range of consumers and are ahead of the next big social trend,” JK Shin, CEO and head of IT & mobile communication at Samsung Electronics said.

According to the spec sheet, the Galaxy A7 will have a 5.5-inch HD sAMOLED display and ships with the slightly older Android 4.4 “KitKat” version of Google’s mobile operating system.

It will be powered by an octa-core system-on-chip, Samsung said: either a Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8x39 (dual-SIM/3G) or Exynos 5430 + M7450 (single SIM).
