The Samsung Galaxy A7 is set to come to South Africa by the end of Q1 2015. This is according to local mobile network operators Vodacom and Cell C.
Pricing details are not yet available, but both networks confirmed they will be selling the device.
MTN said it had not yet decided whether it was going to bring in the Galaxy A7.
Samsung announced the new phone today – 12 January 2015 – saying that it will have the slimmest metal unibody on the market currently.
Two variants of the device have been announced, both of which will have an octa-core processor.
A dual-SIM/3G version of the device will use Qualcomm’s MSM8x39, while the single SIM LTE version will use Samsung’s own Exynos 5430 + M7450 system-on-chip.
It won’t launch with the latest iteration of Android, but will run on the 4.4 “KitKat” version of Google’s mobile operating system.
