LG G3 Android Lollipop upgrade in SA

LG G3 Android Lollipop

LG South Africa has announced that an upgrade to the latest version of Google’s mobile operating system –  Android 5.0 “Lollipop” – is now available to LG G3 owners.

The upgrade brings Android’s new material design and the operating system’s new battery saver feature to the G3, LG said.

“You will be able to see ripples, real-time shadows, and other 3D elements,” LG said.

It added that the new battery saving features go hand-in-hand with Lollipop’s Ambient-mode (or always-on display).

“This allows your device’s screen to remain on while it is at low battery life,” said LG. “It is intended to be used to view notifications at a glance without having to turn on or unlock the screen manually, thus conserving battery power.”

To upgrade, LG G3 users can either download Android Lollipop directly to their phones, or use LG’s mobile support or PC sync tools available from its website.
